Schweitzer Mountain Resort How does skiing on Thanksgiving sound? With Schweitzer's addition of cutting edge snowmaking equipment, it could happen this year! The energy efficient and low impact system features nine fully automated Techno Alpin M18 fan snowmaking guns which will be moved between twenty-three hydrants. These high tech automated snowmaking guns are able to produce 25% more snow for the amount of energy consumed than other types of systems. They sense when conditions make snowmaking possible and turn on automatically, and also turn off automatically to conserve energy when conditions are not ideal. And don't worry; the retractable hydrants do not create obstacles for skiers and riders. Plus, the water and air mix can be adjusted to help build that original base or top off the run with some fresh pow! |
